Authentication & API keys

Authenticate every request with a Bearer token. Apikey-style headers work too.

Every Bill Radar API request must be authenticated with your API token. Keep it secret — it identifies your account and counts against your rate limit.

Sending your token

Pass the token in the Authorization header. Both schemes are accepted:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN
Authorization: apikey YOUR_API_TOKEN

If your token is missing or invalid

You'll get 401 Unauthorized:

Getting a token & your dashboard

Apply for API access. Once approved, sign in to the developer dashboard — we use a passwordless magic link — to see your token, your tier, your rate limit, and your monthly usage.
