If passed, the "Stop Illegal Entry Act of 2025" [HR 3486] would significantly increase criminal penalties for non-U.S. nationals who illegally enter the United States, imposing mandatory minimum sentences and longer maximum terms for repeated offenses. The "SECURE America Act" [HR 5572] would change the current process for admitting refugees by requiring Congressional approval for the number of refugees allowed each fiscal year and implementing restrictions based on beliefs deemed incompatible with U.S. principles.
