The recent amendment to HB 5032 specifies that while school districts cannot use state school aid funds for certain election-related costs, they can now use those funds for administrative costs related to general November elections. This change allows schools some flexibility in managing their budgets, ensuring they can adequately handle necessary administrative tasks without relying solely on private donations. It’s important because it alleviates financial pressure on school districts during election seasons, helping them to maintain essential services while still participating in the electoral process.
