Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 4848 expands the requirement for notifying schools about section 213b of the Michigan penal code. Previously, only school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies were mentioned, but now nonpublic schools are included as well. Additionally, instead of providing the notice to certain groups like students and parents, schools are now required to post the notice on their websites, making this important information more accessible to the entire school community. This change matters because it ensures that a broader audience, including nonpublic schools, has access to critical safety information, promoting awareness and compliance with legal requirements.
