Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Assembly Bill No. 123 include new provisions that specifically prohibit threats or intimidation directed at candidates for public office. This means that if someone makes such threats, the candidate can report it to the Secretary of State, who is required to take action in response. These updates aim to enhance the protection of candidates and ensure a safer, more respectful political environment, which is particularly important given the rising concerns about violence and harassment in politics.
