The bill amends the existing law regarding the pari-mutuel system of wagering by clarifying registration requirements, eliminating certain licensing provisions, and providing immunity from civil liability to certain entities involved in the pari-mutuel system.

  • NRS 464.010

    licensed → registered

This change modifies the requirement for individuals operating pari-mutuel wagering to be registered instead of licensed.

  • NRS 463.0157

    licensed → registered

This change allows employees of operators required to be registered instead of licensed under NRS 464.010 to be classified as gaming employees.

  • NRS 463.0165

a license issued to a disseminator of information concerning racing or a license issued to an operator of an off-track pari-mutuel system.

This repeals references to specific licenses related to disseminators and off-track pari-mutuel systems.

  • NRS 463.0167

or license issued to an operator of an off-track pari-mutuel system. The term also includes the fees paid by a disseminator of information concerning racing.

This change removes references to licensing fees associated with disseminators and off-track pari-mutuel systems.

  • NRS 463.0171

license for the operation of an off-track pari-mutuel system or dissemination of information concerning racing

This change eliminates the definition of 'licensee' in relation to off-track pari-mutuel systems and dissemination.

  • The State of Nevada, the Commission, and other entities are immune from civil liability for actions taken in good faith regarding pari-mutuel wagering.

This provision grants civil liability immunity to certain state entities involved in pari-mutuel operations.
