Plain-language change summary

The changes to Assembly Bill No. 207 clarify that insurers must submit information regarding their compliance with federal mental health parity laws to the Commissioner of Insurance using a specific electronic system. Additionally, the bill updates the confidentiality rules for this submitted information. These shifts are significant because they aim to enhance oversight of how health insurance providers handle mental health and substance use disorder benefits, ensuring better compliance with federal standards. This could lead to improved access to necessary mental health services for individuals.
