The revised bill SJM 8014 now explicitly refers to Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi as a peaceful human rights observer who was shot by an Israeli military sniper while observing the displacement of Indigenous Palestinians. This change adds clarity to her role and emphasizes her bravery. Additionally, the mention of Rachel Corrie's tragic death was simplified by removing the specific detail that two Israeli soldiers operated the bulldozer, which could change the focus of the narrative. These adjustments are significant as they sharpen the bill’s message regarding the impact of military actions on human rights.
