Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill SB 5587 clarifies that the Washington Center for Real Estate Research will produce a series of housing reports for cities with populations of 10,000 or more. Notably, it specifies that the initial report is due by October 15, 2020, and will include a range of objective data on income and housing prices, which is essential for understanding local affordability challenges. This change is important because it emphasizes the need for detailed data that can help policymakers address housing issues effectively in specific communities.
