Plain-language change summary

The amendment to House Bill 1696 changes the income eligibility criteria for a special purpose credit program from 80% to 140% of the area median income for homebuyers. Additionally, the requirement for loan forgiveness after five years of repayment applies to a broader group of participants. This shift is significant because it allows more individuals and families, particularly those in higher income brackets, to benefit from the program and potentially achieve homeownership.
