The amended version of SB 5019 allows medications to be packaged and delivered in larger quantities than previously permitted. This change is important because it ensures that patients discharged from hospital emergency departments can maintain access to crucial medications—especially in situations where pharmacies may not be available. By allowing larger amounts of prepackaged emergency medications, it aims to improve patient care and better support those in need of immediate medical assistance.
