The changes in SB 5845 clarify the timelines for insurance carriers to process claims from healthcare providers. Now, carriers must acknowledge receipt of non-clean claims within 14 days and are specifically required to request all necessary information in one go, rather than making multiple requests over time. Additionally, the bill shortens the acknowledgement period for non-clean claims from 21 days to 14 days. These updates are designed to speed up the claims process, ensuring that providers receive timely communication and payment, which is vital for maintaining their operations.
