In the latest version of House Bill 2228, the language was clarified regarding the implementation of the state building code, specifying that changes will come with the first major update after January 1, 2027. Additionally, the description of "scissor stairs" was adjusted to highlight that the units are enclosed and separated by fire-resistance rated walls instead of assemblies. These changes aim to improve safety standards in building codes and provide clear guidelines for construction practices.
