The updated version of SB 5402 clarified the definition of "bridge grant" by changing the term from "annual grant" to "annual stipend." This adjustment emphasizes that the support provided is intended as an additional financial resource rather than a standalone grant. This change matters because it helps to clearly communicate to students and educational institutions that the funds are designed to assist with ongoing living and educational costs, improving understanding of the financial aid's purpose.
