Plain-language change summary

The amendment to HB 1934 adds a new section that clarifies how the investigative records related to complaints of discrimination or harassment will be handled. While the investigation is ongoing, these records are kept completely confidential. After the investigation concludes, the records can only be shared if sensitive information, such as names and contact details of complainants and witnesses, is redacted, unless they give their consent for disclosure. This change matters because it protects the privacy of individuals involved in sensitive investigations while still allowing for transparency after the investigation is completed.
