The recent updates to Bill SB 100 enhance the oversight and reporting requirements concerning federal guidance letters, particularly for education entities. Now, state agencies must not only submit reports to the Federalism Commission when they receive these federal letters but are also encouraged to share their recommendations on their potential effects. Additionally, the bill allows these agencies to publish guidance letters they received before the new requirements kicked in. These changes aim to improve transparency and encourage better communication between state and federal authorities, ensuring that state interests are considered in federal directives.
