Plain-language change summary

The new version of SB 180 allows the State Board of Education to use a portion of liquor tax revenue to help fund the school meal program, which aims to provide better access to meals for students. It also broadens the definition of who is eligible for this program and includes a specific exemption related to it. These changes are important as they can potentially increase support for students in need and ensure more children can benefit from school meals.
