The recent changes to SB 277 expand the types of housing projects eligible for loan financing under the Utah Homes Investment Program. This includes multi-family housing, affordable rental projects, and grants for low-interest loans to help homeowners with improvements. Additionally, the state treasurer is now allowed to work with third parties for studying the program's economic impact. These amendments aim to increase support for affordable housing initiatives, which could help address housing shortages and improve community living conditions.
