The updated version of Bill SB 110 changes the rules for recognizing marriages that were not properly solemnized. Now, such marriages will only be considered valid if the individuals involved file a petition with the court before May 5, 2027. This adjustment matters because it sets a clear deadline for couples who need legal recognition of their unions, helping to ensure that these marriages can be validated within a specific timeframe.
