What changed in the latest version

The updated version of Bill SB 56 changes the language around how schools provide legal awareness information to 10th grade students. Instead of requiring schools to do this, the bill now allows them to choose whether to provide the information. This change matters because it offers schools flexibility in deciding how to implement the program, which may lead to varied approaches across different districts, potentially affecting students' access to important legal knowledge like voting rights.
