The updated version of Bill HB 59 introduces stricter age verification requirements for obtaining alcohol in restaurants and bars. Now, establishments must verify the age of all individuals appearing 35 years old or younger before serving them alcohol, and off-premise beer retailers must ask for proof of age from every patron. These changes aim to enhance responsible alcohol service and prevent underage drinking by ensuring thorough checks in a wider range of settings. Additionally, the bill allows authorized personnel to temporarily confiscate fake identification, which further helps combat the use of false documents in accessing alcoholic products.
