Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill HB 1096 allow for a simplified process to create a limited liability limited partnership (LLLP). Previously, existing limited partnerships had to go through a series of steps to qualify as LLLPs, but now they can also form an LLLP directly by filing a new certificate. This adjustment makes it easier for businesses to set up an LLLP structure, which can provide better protection for owners' personal assets, thereby encouraging more entrepreneurship and investment in South Dakota.
