The amendments to Bill HB 1265 clarify the conditions under which individuals can salvage bird eggs by specifically stating that this activity is allowed only if the person has a special permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and if the eggs in question belong to species that can be legally taken. This revision is important because it clarifies the legal framework for egg salvage, ensuring that conservation-minded practices are followed while providing a legal avenue for those permitted to collect eggs.
