The updated version of HB 1244 removes a section concerning the transfer of funds from a special donations fund, focusing solely on providing a $500,000 grant to support the Jobs for America's Graduates-South Dakota program. This change simplifies the funding process, ensuring that money will go directly to nonprofit organizations that assist schools in implementing the program. This matters because it streamlines access to funds for educational initiatives aimed at helping students succeed in their careers, without the complications of managing the special fund.
