Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 985 clarify definitions related to kratom, including terms for growers, processors, and retailers. Importantly, the age verification requirements for selling kratom have been updated. Now, sellers must use an approved age verification method, helping to ensure that only adults can purchase kratom products. This change is significant because it aims to enhance consumer safety and compliance within the market.
