The recent amendment to SB 828 changes the reference from the "Department of Health" to the "Department of Human Services." This modification is important because it clarifies which department is responsible for the funds being allocated, ensuring that the appropriations are directed to the right agency that manages Medicaid services. This will help streamline funding processes and improve accountability for how public moneys are used in health care services.
