Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 662 introduces a "Colorectal Cancer Screening, Diagnostic Colonoscopy, and Treatment Pilot Program," which explicitly includes the word "treatment" in relation to colorectal cancer. It also changes how funds are distributed, shifting from grants to payments for approved organizations, which may streamline the funding process for the pilot program. This matters because it emphasizes not just screening and diagnosis, but also actual treatment options for unserved populations, potentially improving health outcomes for those at risk of colorectal cancer.
