The updated version of Bill HB 1498 includes the addition of names, suggesting there may have been changes to sponsorship. More importantly, it clarifies and reinforces the "right of first refusal" for cotenants, meaning that when one owner wants to sell their share of inherited property, they must offer it first to the other co-owners before selling it to someone outside the family. This change aims to help keep inherited properties within families and avoid unwanted sales, thus preserving family assets.
