Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 858 includes a significant change by removing a requirement for municipalities to collect contact information from property owners cited for violations of local ordinances. This means that now, the only way for the chief assessor to obtain contact information for a property is if the owner decides to provide it voluntarily. This shift simplifies the process for local governments and might lead to fewer property owners being added to the contact list, which could impact communication about property-related matters.
