Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 433 updates the requirements for health insurance policies regarding coverage for mammographic examinations and breast imaging. Specifically, it clarifies that all health insurance policies offered, issued, or renewed in Pennsylvania must cover not only the costs of diagnostic breast exams but also the costs of supplemental screenings for individuals at higher risk of breast cancer. This change is significant because it aims to ensure broader access to necessary screenings and can help with early detection, ultimately improving health outcomes for those at risk.
