Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill SB 293 adds a detailed definition of "artificial intelligence," breaking down its capabilities and including "generative artificial intelligence" as a specific category. These changes clarify what constitutes artificial intelligence, which is important for shaping regulations and ensuring that the bill addresses current technological realities. In contrast, the previous version did not include this comprehensive definition, which could have led to gaps in understanding how the bill applies to emerging AI technologies.
