The amendment to Bill HB 165 adds a requirement that any abortion performed on an unborn child more than 15 weeks gestational age must include pain relief medication, unless specific circumstances arise, such as an adverse reaction or a medical emergency. This change aims to ensure that pain management is provided during abortions, highlighting a growing emphasis on the welfare of the unborn child during medical procedures. This adjustment in the bill is significant as it reflects broader discussions around abortion practices and the rights of the unborn within legislative frameworks.
