The recent amendment to Bill SB 53 updates the terminology used in laws regarding child sexual abuse material, changing "child pornography" to "child sexual abuse material." This is important because it clarifies the language and intent of the law, emphasizing the harmful nature of the content and ensuring that the legal definitions are consistent across various sections. Additionally, the amendment aims to modernize the statutory language and improve the legal framework for protecting children from sexual exploitation.
