The amended version of Senate Bill 1950 includes new definitions and specific criteria for what qualifies as an “aircraft” and details about a technology called “automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast” (ADS-B). This change clarifies the types of aircraft that will be covered under the bill and introduces important definitions to ensure consistency in understanding the technology involved in aviation surveillance. This matters because it helps establish clear regulations for aviation infrastructure and safety, impacting operations for smaller aircraft and enhancing air traffic management.
