Plain-language change summary

The changes to HB 1365 remove a section that previously provided immunity from liability for public and private entities related to injuries or damage caused by individuals carrying firearms. Instead, the updated bill focuses solely on regulations regarding the possession of firearms in publicly owned or operated buildings. It specifically prohibits carrying firearms in certain public areas unless individuals pass through security measures, emphasizing safety at these locations. This shift matters because it limits the legal protection for entities in the event of firearms-related incidents, while aiming to enhance safety in public spaces.
