The amended bill, now HB 1471, changes the section title and the terminology from "dental benefit plan" to "preferred provider arrangement." It clarifies that these arrangements should not restrict payment methods to just credit cards and outlines the transparency requirements regarding payment fees. This matters because it aims to ensure that dental providers have flexible payment options and are informed about any potential fees, which can ultimately reduce their costs and improve their operations.
