Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to House Bill 171 focus on workplace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Key changes include the removal of provisions that previously allowed employees to take legal action for damages if their rights were violated under this section. This matters because it limits the recourse available to employees who might face discrimination or retaliation related to DEI efforts, potentially impacting workplace equality and employee protections.
