What changed in the latest version
79 added · 78 removedPlain-language change summary
In the latest version of HB 771, a few minor adjustments were made to clarify how witnesses can provide testimony in criminal cases. Notably, the wording around the possible exceptions for protecting a witness's identity was changed, allowing courts to grant exceptions more flexibly. This change is important because it aims to enhance the safety and participation of witnesses who might be under threat, ensuring that their crucial testimonies can still be heard in court.
