Rules and Operations of the Senate February 25, 2025 A SENATE RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT, NOMINATION, AND CONFIRMATION OF JOEY R.
Be it resolved by the Senate:
Whereas, pursuant to G.S.
SECTION1.
143B-9(a), the Governor shall notify the President of the Senate of the name of each person to be nominated as head of a principal State department;
Havinggivendueconsiderationto thematter,theSenateconfirms Joey R.
and Whereas, each nomination is subject to senatorial advice and consent in conformance with Section 5(8) of Article III of the North Carolina Constitution;
and Whereas, the Governor has appointed Joey R.
Hopkins to serve as Secretary of the Department of Transportation pending further action by the Senate;
Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the Senate:
SECTION 1.
That the Senate shall hereby consider whether to confirm Joey R.
