The amendment to Bill HB 1229 adds a new provision that states a contract can be deemed unenforceable if circumstances change significantly since the agreement was made, not just if it is considered "unconscionable." This change is important because it allows for more flexibility in legal agreements, recognizing that situations can evolve and making it easier for individuals to challenge contracts that may no longer be fair or applicable. The effective date of the bill remains January 1, 2027.
