The additional uses of surtax proceeds authorized by the amendments made by this act to s.
212.055(2)(d), Florida Statutes, may apply to a surtax in effect on July 1, 2026, only to the extent such use was authorized in the original referendum adopting the surtax or is authorized pursuant to a subsequent resolution conditioned to take effect only upon approval of a majority vote of the electors of the county voting in a referendum.
