Plain-language change summary

The changes to HB 1259 clarify the qualifications needed for becoming a certified public accountant (CPA) in New Hampshire. The bill allows individuals with out-of-state CPA certifications to provide services in New Hampshire, as long as their qualifications are comparable to the new standards. Additionally, it updates the definition of the "Uniform Accountancy Act" to reflect a newer edition published in July 2025. These adjustments aim to streamline the process for CPAs and broaden access to accounting services in the state.
