The amendment to HB 1758 adds a requirement that allows the director of the division of motor vehicles to evaluate school bus driver certification standards from other states. This means drivers certified in those states can now be recognized as meeting New Hampshire's requirements, making it easier for qualified drivers from elsewhere to work in New Hampshire. This change is significant because it could help address any shortages of school bus drivers by allowing more qualified individuals to transport students safely.
