Plain-language change summary

In the recent amendment to Bill HB 1071, additional language was added to clarify that while immunity from prosecution remains in place for healthcare facilities that followed COVID-19 emergency rules, this immunity will only apply to actions that occurred before the repeal takes effect. This means that the repeal of the immunity law will not affect any legal protections for actions taken while the law was in effect. This change is significant because it ensures certain legal protections for healthcare entities during the ongoing pandemic response, while also making a clear distinction about future liability.
