The amendment to HB 1021 changes the deadline for taxpayers to notify their municipality about their choice to be assessed under the low-income housing tax credit program. Instead of having to provide this notice by October 1, taxpayers now have until April 15 of the tax year in question. This change gives taxpayers more time to prepare and submit their election, potentially making it easier for them to take advantage of the program.
