What changed in the latest version

The latest version of SB 598 has removed a provision that allowed the task force to explore additional voluntary funding sources. This change means that the task force will now focus only on specific initiatives like a decal program for non-motorized watercraft and a license plate decal. By narrowing the scope, the bill reinforces a targeted approach to generating funds for cyanobacteria mitigation, which can be more effective in addressing this environmental issue.
