In the final version of SB 405, the threshold for political contributions that can remain anonymous increased from $50 to $200. This means that contributors giving under $200 won't have their personal details publicly disclosed, which could encourage more people to donate without fear of their information being shared. Additionally, contributions over $200 now require more detailed reporting, including the contributor's occupation and employer, thereby increasing transparency in campaign financing. These changes aim to balance donor privacy with the need for accountability in political funding.
