The amendment to SB 543 significantly reduced the funding for provisional eligibility expenses from $1.5 million to just $1 for the biennium ending June 30, 2027. This change means that much less money will be available to support the eligibility process for Medicaid recipients and related services. This is important because it could impact how effectively the Department of Health and Human Services can manage and fund necessary supports for individuals in state institutions and rehabilitation centers.
