Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 465 specify that xylazine, a drug, will be scheduled for regulation while also allowing licensed veterinarians to prescribe and administer it to nonhuman animals. This modification highlights the drug's use in veterinary medicine and ensures that veterinarians can continue to treat animals without interruption. This change is significant as it balances public health concerns with the needs of animal care, ensuring that animals can receive necessary medical treatment while still regulating the drug's use.
