Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill LB 820A specifies the approval date by the Governor as April 14, 2026, and provides exact figures for funds appropriated for the fiscal year 2026-27. Specifically, it allocates $7,500 from the Class V School Employees Retirement System Management Work Plan Fund and $7,500 from the State Patrol Expense Fund. This clarification about funding is important because it ensures that the necessary resources are available to support the implementation of the provisions outlined in Legislative Bill 820. Additionally, stating an emergency exists allows the bill to take effect immediately upon approval, which helps expedite the funding process.
